Michelle:
Hello there, health coaches! Even if you have never created a freebie before, I am positive that you've seen one somewhere online and you've probably even signed up for one or two, a freebie, which is also sometimes called a lead magnet. You'll hear that term, but I usually just say freebie. It's something that you offer for free in exchange for an email address. It's a way of building your mailing list. And as a health coach, I had many, many, many freebies that I had created throughout the years. It's why my mailing list was really substantial, and I had such a warm audience full of women who were eager to become paying clients. So really important, it's a really important piece of your marketing. However, I see health coaches really struggling to come up with an idea for even one freebie and you only need one. But after I had been a health coach, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 plus years, I had many.

In any case, if you've been struggling to think what would make a great freebie, what would make somebody actually give me an email address in exchange for something that I can offer them? I have put together a resource with 100, yes, a full 100 freebie ideas for health coaches. I've been on the hunt to be a part of different people's summits because I was in one last year, really helped me grow my email list, so trying to get in front of more people. So I had applied to beyond one, and there was a little problem with the email and she said something last week saying that I was in, but I didn't find out until today. So now I'm a crunch. I don't have much time, which is I'm going to have the talk next week. It's great. It's for high achieving women, either entrepreneurs, professionals, coaches.

So I'm going to be talking about mindset, kind of overcoming negative thinking to more positive thinking. But the problem I'm having is that we can submit a freebie to give, which I want to do because otherwise I don't know how they'd get on my email list, assuming when they sign up, it'll go on her email, but she doesn't want to have anything that we already have out there on either social media or our website. So I'm in a little bit of a crunch to figure out something to put together new quickly. So I was going over through HPU, again, your ideas for different freebies. And so I'm just trying to think of what I could do. And I'm thinking maybe putting together some type of guide that goes along with the talk I'm giving, maybe expanding on the different types of negative thoughts that we have, some type of journal type thing that they could go through, but just wanted to see if you had any thoughts on. And the other thing I always struggle with, it is funny, you were talking about naming things because I feel like I'm horrible at naming things and I get really stuck there. So trying to figure out what I could at least name it so that I can give her the name of it today and then I can work on it over the weekend. But…

Michelle:
All right, I get it. Sometimes these things happen, they sneak up on us and you're like, ah. So question, were you perhaps by any chance already planning on offering any kind of free event in the next month or so?

Sherry:
I am doing some workshops, but it's on, those ones are going to be on energy, so it's a little bit different topic than this one.

Michelle:
Tell me what, because you said mindset, but that's not the topic. The topic is helping them with what?

Sherry:
To overcome some of their negative thinking. So things that are like how they talk to themselves and how it's holding them back from getting to be where they want to be.

Michelle:
Because it's draining their energy. Sign up for more energy. There's a line there. You can make that into a direct line, point A to point B if you want to do.

Sherry:
Yeah.

Michelle:
That's what's this energy thing you're planning to do.

Sherry:
It's looking at different ways to get more energy besides just looking at what you eat. So it's kind of looking at that circle of life and ...

Michelle:
Your mindset.

Sherry:
Where you might be being drained and you're not thinking about it that way.

Michelle:
That's great. And is that something you're planning to hold via webinar?

Sherry:
No, I actually was able to team up with two different places locally area. So I'm going to be doing them in person.

Michelle:
So where I was headed with that is if you're already going to be doing something for free to invite people to invite these people to also do that thing for free. It doesn't have to be a lead magnet, PDF document. It's just something for free that they would be likely to want to sign up for after hearing you speak. So especially if you're already going to do something, you might as well just invite them to it.

Sherry:
Yeah, no, that's true. And I mean I could definitely do it virtually as well. I mean, I have it all done, so even if I did another session virtually, it wouldn't be that much more work. I have it, I have everything ready. It's just a different format.

Michelle:
Yeah, that's pretty cool. So you could potentially hold it with these two different venues, but then you could host it yourself, maybe promote it, just shoot it out to your email list and whatever. So again, you're just making the most of it and you're inviting these people to sign up for it as well.

Sherry:
So ...

Michelle:
That's one thought I had another thought that has now completely flown out of my brain. So now I will pass it to the rest of you. What can Sherry offer quickly that has to do with negative thinking? Oh, here's what, but yes, everybody still give your input. You are all very smart people. Sherry, do you have anything already created, even if it's part of paid program, something you usually give to private clients in a slightly different form.

Sherry:
And that was something I was thinking of because last year when I did a different summit, and it was a longer session, but I talked about some of this during that, and I put together a workbook to give them. And so it had some of the mindset information in there that I could kind of extract from that workbook and then make it its own PDF.

Michelle:
Great. So we always love that when there's something that's already created, we can repurpose. Lindsay said you have a guided meditation that you've done or some sort of audio that teaches them how to shift their thoughts that you can send. Yes, especially if you already had it created. That would be so great. I love that. And then the last idea I want to throw out for you, Sherry, is there a part of this presentation you're going to give that you could not include something that feels important enough to be compelling, but not so important that if you didn't do it, you'd have no presentation, some significant chunk you could purposely not share, and you would to dangle that as a carrot?

Sherry:
Yeah, yeah, I'm sure I do. I think it's only going to be a half hour session, so it's not very long. And I have a lot of information on this. I could talk about it probably for closer to an hour, so I'm sure that there's something I could leave out.

Michelle:
So for example, if you were going to, as part of this presentation, do a 10 minute guided meditation with everybody, as Lindsay suggested now, you're not going to do it because it's too long. It's taken up too much of the time anyway, and you're going to pluck it right out of the presentation and offer it separately.

Sherry:
Separately. Okay. Yeah, no, thank you. Those are all really good ideas.

Michelle:
So there you have it. I just love how Sherry is seeking out opportunities to build her mailing list. So very important. And yeah, sometimes opportunities come last minute or when you weren't expecting them or when we're not quite ready. That doesn't mean you should run away. You should lean into it. And there's sort of a gift in that time crunch because I think then we don't waste time hemming and hauling and making no decisions and doing nothing. Right.
