5 Ways to Make $2000 This Week as a Health Coach
If you had to make $2,000 this week, what would you do? Whether you need a financial boost or just want to see what’s possible in your health coaching business, I have five powerful strategies to help you make it happen quickly and effectively.
One of the biggest perks of running your own business is the ability to create income when you need it. No waiting for payday. No hoping for a raise. Just you, your skills, and some strategic action. Let’s dive in!
Want more strategies to get clients and build a sustainable income? Join March 2025’s FREE Get More Clients Bootcamp
1. Private Clients Add Up Fast
Private coaching is the fastest way to bring in money. If you’re charging $1,000 per coaching package (which I highly recommend working your way up to, if you aren’t already there) you only need two clients to hit $2,000.
Start by reaching out to past clients – they already know and trust you. A simple check-in email or message can remind them of your services. Also, revisit past consultations that didn’t sign up. Maybe now is the right time for them.
If you have an email list, send an exclusive offer. Make it timely and compelling, like a “Spring Renewal Package” or “Pre-Summer Reset.” Add an extra bonus, like a cooking class or farmers market tour, to make the offer timely and irresistible.
2. Host a Paid Workshop or Series
Think about a topic people always ask you about and turn it into a workshop or a mini-series.
For example, if people rave about your homemade sourdough bread, offer a live baking workshop for $99 per person. Sell 20 spots, and you’ve hit your $2,000 goal. Or, if your audience is navigating menopause, host a three-part series for $199 and sell 10 spots.
Workshops can be online, in-person, or a mix of both. Keep overhead low, and focus on topics that require little prep but deliver big value.
3. Sell a Mini Program
Mini programs (like a 5-Day Jumpstart) are easy to sell because they have a low barrier to entry. Price it at $99 and sell 20 spots, or offer an annual bundle for $250 and sell just 8.
This method not only generates quick cash but also builds a list of engaged potential clients who may upgrade to private coaching later.
4. Pre-sell a Future Offer
Why wait until your next launch to start earning? Offer an exclusive discount on a program, coaching package, or group program that starts in the future.
For example, if you plan to run a program in June, pre-sell it now at a special rate. If you normally charge $500, offer a pre-sale price of $399 and sell just 5 spots to reach $2,000. This gives you cash now and guarantees clients later.
5. Leverage Referral Partnerships
Find a product or service you already love and recommend, and check if they offer an affiliate or referral program. Many high-quality wellness brands and services offer commissions for referrals.
For example, I used to earn $1,000 per referral when I recommended my health coaching school! Whoa. I definitely put effort into that income stream.
If you can find a program that pays $100 per referral, you only need 20 people to sign up through your link. Partnering with a chiropractor, acupuncturist, or fitness studio can also generate solid referral income.
Necessity is the Mother of Invention
Hey, a little of that “good stress” can make your creativity flow. If you really needed $2,000 this week, which of these ideas could you run with?
And even if you aren’t strapped for cash, run with it anyway. This is how you learn what works and how to improve your offers.

Michelle:
Hello there, health coaches. All right, I have a question for you. If you had to make $2,000 this week, what would you do? And I'm posing this to you as a true challenge because no, you probably don't need to make $2,000 this week, but what if you did, right? Necessity is the mother of invention, right? So let's get creative and hey, maybe for some of you that's exactly what you need to earn this week. I think you're going to see that earning in your coaching business has unlimited potential, which is very exciting, and this episode might kickstart some ideas to move you forward. Now, of course, sometimes there really is a big expense that requires an income boost. I know that's happened in my life through the years, and it's such a blessing to be able to earn when you need it instead of waiting for that next paycheck.
When people say, oh, well I get paid on Friday. Oh, I get paid next week, and that paycheck is the same as last week, but what if you need a little infusion in your bank account? One of the reasons that I have loved having my own business is that you really do control your own destiny. Now, starting just a few days from now is our free Get More Clients Bootcamp. We're going to go even deeper into these strategies thinking about not only what can I earn this week, but long-term business goals. So I want you to make sure to join us. It is completely free. It's at healthcoachpower.com/getmoreclients, and we have hundreds and hundreds of health coaches already enrolled. I'm getting very excited to get started. Also, before I forget, the wait list for FastTrack 2020 fives Live Spring cohort is filling up.
There's only a few days left to get on it for best possible pricing and bonuses plus early access to our limited spots and this Spring's cohort. So I definitely recommend adding your name to the wait list right now. There's no obligations, so it's kind of like why not? Go ahead and do that now. It's at healthcoachpower.com/waitlist. Alright, now, I know it's easy to be cynical. You're listening to me and you're like, yeah, right, Michelle, get more Clients bootcamp. I don't even have one client earn $2,000 this week. I haven't earned a single dollar as a health coach. Do any of those cynical thoughts come to mind? Trust me, I am as cynical as it gets. I am that person who has those kind of thoughts, so if you're having them, I get it. I understand completely. It's really easy to get in your head and when you're thinking that way, it turns off all your creative juices.
But that my friends, that's exactly why this episode exists. So buckle up, get ready to jot down some notes. Hopefully you have a pad of paper nearby. If you're listening to this via podcast later, you can always come back and listen again because as we go along, you're going to be like, Ooh, that's an idea. Oh, that's an idea. That reminds me of this other thing. Now, if you are here, live with me. Tell me in the chat what comes to mind when I said earn $2,000 this week. Did anything jump out as the obvious first step or the obvious first thing that you would do? Let's start there, right? Let's start with the lowest hanging fruit. I have five strategies to share with you, but I'm positive because I know, because I do this all the time with the health coaches inside Healthy Profit University.
Certainly within Fast Track we put our heads together and then we come up with a million more ideas. So it's always super useful when we can not just have one brain working on something, but many. Okay, so strategy number one is where my head went immediately when this topic came up, and that's private clients. Private clients typically are your fastest path to money, and yeah, that's always true. Any day of your business, I'm not sure what you're charging, but I coach my fast track members to inch their way up to at least $1,000 per private coaching package. So if that were the case and you were charging a thousand dollars, you would need just two clients to hit that $2,000 goal. I like that math. That was very easy math. So think how could you make that happen Now if you needed that money right away, I'll tell you what I would do first, I would start with past clients, right?
Anyone you've worked with before, once someone hires you, they're much more likely to hire you again to sign up for your stuff again. So why not check in with your past clients, see how they're doing. This doesn't have to be salesy. I mean, typically when someone that you've already worked with is reminded of you, you're just saying, hello, they're going to blurt out, you know what? I could really use your help. Oh, I've been thinking about you. I'm so glad you reached out, and then you can book a call with them. Now, of course, you can also reach out to anyone who has shown interest in your coaching in the past, but maybe it wasn't the right time. Then go back in your records to the people that maybe you've done consultations with in the past wasn't the right time. Then maybe now they're ready.
That's an excellent warm audience for you to reach out to and if you have an email list, and I hope you do because if not, this is definitely something that we're going to cover during bootcamp next week, but you can reach out to your list and you can let them know, Hey, I'm taking two new clients this easy. Now of course you're probably like, Michelle, I make offers like this all the time. How would it be any different if I actually needed to sign those clients this week? I like that extra little pressure that it puts on. I need to make it now. I need to actually make it happen right now. Something you could do to make an even more compelling offer, like a special coaching package, you'd want to do something timely getting ready for the spring season. I'm recording this episode in March.
I daffodils are starting to pop here in New York, so something preparing for spring would make a lot of sense. Maybe it's your special spring renew and revitalized package and maybe it includes a special bonus. This is where we can really get creative. Maybe in addition to the usual health coaching sessions that you would do, you're also going to help them set up their spring garden. I mean, I would love someone to help me with that. I have a black thumb. I'm terrible at that kind of thing, but it sounds so nice to have a garden. So that's a very springtime vibe. If you're great at gardening all about that stuff, you are willing to help me with that, either in person getting your hands dirty with me or online just showing me how either way that could work really well and if you have other ideas, by the way, throw them out in the comments.
Let's say it's your usual health coaching sessions and for this special renew and revitalized package, you're going to include four cooking classes or four meal prep sessions with springtime meals. So you see what I'm doing here. I'm adding value with something that sounds kind of like fun and relevant, something that's not going to cost you anything except a few more hours of your time and you can really incentivize them to sign up Now while this special package is available, so like I said, maybe it's packaged around springtime, like a spring themed package. Maybe let's say we're May, you could do a package that's themed around mothers and daughters. You could sell something where you're working with both mother and daughter and doing some joint activities together. That would make a lot of sense for someone to buy just before Mother's Day or think about in the fall, right?
I don't know when you guys are going to be listening to this episode, so I want to cover all my bases in the fall when athletes are headed into fall, sports offer a package working with those young athletes and their parents to fuel the sports season for the athlete and for the family, for the mom that's driving them around to all those practices. Again, it feels timely. It gives them a reason to pay attention. Now, another would be to experiment with smaller packages. So if you usually work with clients for 12 weeks, and like I said, maybe that's a thousand dollars, you could try offering something different like a specialty package we've talked about. It could be four weeks or six weeks, maybe they're 500 or $600, so it would be a very easy yes, someone doesn't have to think about it too hard. They could say yes and pay you today.
Now, of course you'd have to sell twice as many to hit $2,000, but that's an idea. Okay, so that's strategy one. What do you think about those private coaching ideas? Kind of a spin on what you would normally be offering, and I know private coaching is kind of obvious, but if you make it special and you make it relevant to someone today, you'd be much more likely to earn that $2,000 this week. Alright, we're going to move on to strategy number two. Think what's something that people are always asking you about. I want you to identify a high demand topic and try charging 100, maybe $200 for a paid workshop or a cooking class or even a series of workshops or cooking classes. I'm going to give you some examples. Again, I want to get your wheels turning. Maybe everybody always wants to learn how to make your sourdough bread because you make amazing sourdough bread.
I want to learn how to make your sourdough bread offer a workshop. I don't know, maybe it's $99, maybe it's 1 49, 1 hour, two hours, whatever you need, but it's like a one and done thing. You already know how to do it. It's something people are asking for. This is a no brainer or maybe a lot of women in your audience are going through menopause and that's very hot topic. They're talking about it. Offer a three part workshop series for 1 99. That's an easy yes for her and all of these ideas, they can be done online, they can be done in person. If you're a little tech savvy, you can figure out how to do both at the same time, then you're getting the best of both worlds and these ideas probably wouldn't take too much time to prepare in terms of content, if you sold 10 spots in that menopause workshop series, there's your $2,000, right?
So tell me in the comments, if you're here live, what's something that you could share about in a workshop or a cooking class or a paid series of some kind? I remember, gosh, what year was this? It must have been like 2011 maybe. I learned how to make sauerkraut at a chiropractor's office. This was when I lived in the DC area. I lived in Alexandria, Virginia. A local health coach held a workshop and she held it at the office. So she brought the heads of cabbage and the salt and I think she brought the cutting boards and the knives. Maybe we had to bring our own glass jar. I can't quite remember. But anyway, I had been dying to learn how to make my own lacto fer minted food, so I paid whatever it was, a hundred dollars, $150. The place was packed. It's a good thing that chiropractor had a lot of space and I was thinking it was really smart for that health coach because cabbage is cheap.
So she had very little overhead costs and I'm sure she probably made $2,000 if not more. So do you know how to make sauerkraut? Because people want to learn these things and there are these one-offs that you can do every now and then, whenever it fits your life and your business to bring in a little extra income. Nice, right? Alright, we're going to move on to strategy number three. This is something that we're going to spend an entire day on during bootcamp. I'll give you a little glimpse here. The idea is to sell a mini program. It's kind of similar to a workshop or a series because it's only going to cost like $99 or so at that price you have to sell 20 spots, which is totally doable, but stay with me. What if, especially if you have a smaller audience, maybe selling 20 spots is going to be out of reach.
What if you held your mini program multiple times per year, once per season as an example, my fast track members run a five day jumpstart. It's the kind of thing people love to repeat. Everybody wants a refresh, everybody wants, well a jumpstart every season. So if you wanted to earn $2,000 today, you could offer the whole year's worth of jumpstarts and if it were $99 each, maybe you offer the whole year for like 250, that'd be a great deal compared to somebody buying each one individually and then you would only have to sell eight to earn $2,000 this week. Plus you'd have members pre-registered for all those jumpstarts and it's always good to know they have a group in advance. In fact, alright, that's going to lead me right into our fourth strategy, which is all about pre-selling. I'd love for you to get comfortable with this term. I don't think we do it enough.
Any kind of program is advantageous to your clients because you're going to give them an amazing deal. Remember, instead of somebody paying $99 four times, they can pay you two 50 and get the whole year worth of jump starts, right? That's an amazing deal and they're paying you in advance, which is beneficial for you. Maybe it's for something you haven't even created yet. Yeah, you can do that. So you'll get the money now. Plus that certainty of knowing that you have client interest, so you can go ahead and build that program or build that course and actually run it. You can even pre-sell private coaching. I mean, this is not just limited to little programs and whatnot. Think about your whole private coaching program at the end of the year in November and December. People don't want to dive into healthy eating during the holidays a lot of times, but maybe they could pay now and start working with you in January.
You can pre-sell your private coaching program in November, in December and say, you're going to get at this great price, or my prices are going up next year, pay me now. We'll start in January. So that's another way that you can earn. Now, put the money in your bank account now, get that $2,000 now and deliver when it actually makes sense to do so. In fact, this was reminding me, which is so crazy to think about, but for the very first time that I ever ran Fast Track, I offered it to my audience of health coaches. I offered it to all of you for a super, super low price. This was back in 2018. I think this offer was going out to everybody before I had created any of it, which is a really smart way to go because this way I could tell right off the bat if I had interest in this program and I did because coaches were willing to sign up in advance.
It's like getting paid to create the thing and you can do this. Fast Track is still my most popular program to this day. I could tell it was going to be because people jumped on that deal. So try pre-selling, like getting market research and making your $2,000 at the very same time. How good is that? Tell me in the chat, what sort of programs or offers are you thinking of running? Things that you're going to do later this year? What could you potentially pre-sell and make $2,000 this week? It's really a win-win for everyone because remember, you'd be offering this highly reduced rate to anybody that buys now and you get the $2,000, which is the challenge of today's episode, right? And finally, I bet you have a ton of notes right now. You are just going crazy over there, scribbling down notes. I got one more for you.
The last strategy we're going to talk about today is something that, again, I'm going to be covering more in depth during bootcamp, but this is where you partner with a business with a practitioner for some kind of referral situation, and it's always going to be slightly different depending who you are partnering with and what kind of business they are. I'm going to give you an example. I'll give you a couple examples. Years ago, and I don't think they have done this for a very long time, but years ago, the top refers, that's a hard word for me to say. Did you get that Referers to IN, which is the Institute for Integrative Nutrition. That's where I went to Health Coaching School. They would pay their top referers $1,000 per student referral. That was a very lucrative income stream for me. Can you imagine? Right? I always had people reaching out to me anyway.
They'd find me online or just people I knew in my life. They'd always be asking about where I went to school, how I became a health coach. I'm sure you have people reaching out to you all the time asking about stuff too. Where do you go to yoga? Where did you do that? How did you accomplish this, right? People have questions, so if you answer them, you might be able to turn it into an income stream for yourself. I put a little effort into this one by hopping on a call with anybody who wanted to talk about becoming Health Coach. And boom, those $1,000 checks, they just kept coming in the mail. It was awesome. Now, of course, not every referral situation is going to pay out a thousand dollars per sale, but I know I've earned a good percentage. When I was referring water filter systems, I was making maybe like 300, 3 50 per sale and I've earned about 25%, maybe 30% of natural skincare brands that I've referred to how much women spend on skincare.
That adds up. So maybe it's a product that you're a big fan of and you're always talking about anyway. Maybe it's a service that you've used. Again, you're always sharing about it anyway, a school that you went to, anything that you can refer to, those looking for that kind of help. It's possible to earn a sizable referral fee in some cases, and gosh, after that, you really don't have to do much else. So it's quite nice. You don't actually have to coach anyone or run a program or do the workshop or anything. So if I wanted to earn $2,000 this week, what I would do is I would find a good paying referral situation or take advantage of something that I already have set up, market that product or service with the same oomph as if it were my own. Like I said, at one point in my health coaching career, all I had to do was talk to two people about becoming a health coach and boom, that was $2,000.
You could even combine ideas from today's episode, okay, ready for this. You could hold a workshop or a webinar about water quality, about what's in your water and charge for that workshop, but then during the workshop you can refer participants to the water filtration system that you use. So you're earning two different ways. It's kind of beautiful, isn't it? And it's all in service of those who are looking for the help. Literally like, hi, can you help me figure out if I need a water filter? And this is just an example, of course, which one do you use? What do you recommend? I would never refer anyone to anything that I didn't actually think would benefit them or that I didn't think was exactly what they were looking for. But you can play an important role. I mean, we think of health coaching as like, well, I coach people.
Yes, you can also play an important role by using your knowledge and connecting people to the services, to the products that they need, that they want. So there you have it. Five ways that you can earn $2,000 this week. We kind of just whipped through those. So maybe this is an episode that you're going to want to listen to again, and I'm curious which one was most interesting to you. What would you have never thought of before or never thought you could earn with so quickly?
